At My Firm, I Say Exactly What I Mean
blue quote
Straight-forward and to the point, I will always be clear and concise in explaining what’s happening in your case.
Daniel C. Atwood

I have been practicing in the Cincinnati area since 1989. As a result, I have a very in-depth knowledge of Ohio’s laws and statutes, a strong sense for what direction a case is likely to take, and a clear idea of which way the local judges and magistrates tend to lean.

Rather than keeping this knowledge to myself, I share it with my clients up front, then consistently update them as their case unfolds. I don’t withhold any information or sugarcoat the truth. I simply explain what’s happening now and what I believe will happen next. That way, they always know what to expect and can prepare accordingly.

My Promise to You

Compassion & Support

I know how overwhelming legal matters can be. Whether or not you choose to work with me, I will treat your situation with respect and understanding.

Clear Explanations

I am extremely knowledgeable about Ohio’s laws and statutes, and I'm always happy to explain them in layman’s terms. So if you have questions, feel free to ask.

Honest, Candid Advice

No matter the details of your case, I will make sure you know exactly what’s happening and how I would proceed if I were in your shoes.

Learn from the past. Look to the future.

Your past doesn’t have to define the rest of your life, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a great deal you can learn from it. For instance, many of the clients I have guided through the probate process return to me for help creating an estate plan. After seeing the probate process up close, they realize how much easier they can make that same experience on their own loved ones later on.

In a similar sense, the families of those who have created estate plans with me often seek my counsel when the time comes to enter into the probate process. Because I handled their loved one’s estate plan, they know I am familiar with their situation and ready to help.

Although each of my divorce and dissolution clients has their own unique needs and goals, I know from years of experience that working toward the healthy future they envision takes more than simply making it through the process of legally separating.

That’s why I always encourage them to reflect on what their recent relationship has taught them, then use that insight to reclaim their individual identity and ultimately work toward the self they want to be. And, until they reach the end of their divorce or dissolution, I do my part to help them keep things in perspective. After all, soon today’s legal concern will be nothing more than a memory.
